Day Ten - Saturday Cereal

There were some definite positive parts to my day that I want to share with you.  I was able to get up and enjoy "Saturday Cereal" with E this morning.  She loves that I am home on Saturdays and Sundays and that we can have breakfast together.  While I could probably benefit from a few hours in the office, I realized that if I am going to protect her and guide her in the future, then I have to develop a positive Father image with her now.  So, while I know she loves having Fruity Pebbles, Captain Crunch, or Cinnamon Toast Crunch with me, it really is a blessing to me to be able to spend the time with her.  Also, she is one of the cutest and funniest little kids I've met so it's always a blast to do things with her.

The second blessing I received today was when I went to get some new keyless entry remotes I had ordered off Amazon programed for our Saturn.  Apparently the older model Saturn Vues are one of three GM vehicles that you cannot program your own remotes to.  So I called a nearby Chevrolet lot, and they said it would be $130 to get these two remotes programmed.  Now these are to a twelve year old vehicle with no computer chip in the key or anything, so needless to say, I was shocked!  I called a couple more lots, and was happy to find a Chevrolet dealership in Little Rock (Bale Chevrolet) who would do it for free!  Carl at the lot said if it would work with a certain computer (I think he said a Tech 2) it would only take a moment and it would be free.  So if you live in Little Rock and need your Chevrolet serviced, please contact Carl.  He really seems like a stand-up guy.  One top of that, the remotes came with two blank keys which Home Depot cut for me at no cost.  So it was a double blessing this afternoon!

Finally, I thought I would share that I have been able to relax this evening and watch some Razorback football.  Even this Kentucky boy can get excited about a double OT win over a Top 25 opponent.  Oh, and college football and homemade cookies'n cream ice cream go great together!  E and Bekah made some delicious ice cream (recipe here).  Thankfully, I can still eat it (in moderation).  So a little more than a half cup, and I'm good!

I am very pleased with my calorie intake today.  I also was able to continue my exercise streak on the recumbent.  It feels good to be exercising again, even if it is only a little each day.  I know it will increase as I progress.
