Day Forty-Five - D Fence
I've had a good day, but it seemed to just fly by. We got to celebrate my nephew J's birthday which was great. We got him some Legos. Has anyone seen the prices of those things (the big ones)? Check the price out on this Death Star. It's really been a rather slow day otherwise. I've watched some football which has me thinking about defense.
They say great defense wins championships. Last year, the Denver Broncos rode the backs of a phenomenal defense to win the Super Bowl (I am a huge Peyton Manning fan). It really isn't that much different when losing weight. There will be situations where you have to be on defense. You have to be prepared in situations when temptations arise. At the birthday party this afternoon they had several things that looked really tasty. It was right between lunch and dinner, which is the perfect time to tempt someone. There were cupcakes, gatorade, chips. All things that would have made for a good afternoon snack. I was prepared. I had decided ahead of time that I wasn't going to eat anything. It wasn't that I couldn't have, I just knew that nothing there would be good for me (well, there were carrots and cheese sticks, but I'd already made up my mind not to eat). That left plenty of calories for snacks and a delicious pork loin and smashed potato dinner. So it's all about being prepared ahead of time. Know your plan and how you'll defend your journey. There are plenty of temptations along the way. My defense is ready. I'm losing my butter half.
The only thing with my calories today was that I had too many calories in snacks. They were broken up and not all after dinner, but still more than I'd like to see in a day. I was also able to get my exercise in this morning which is great!
