Day Forty-Four - Fries and Frosty
Sometimes life just wears you out. Both emotionally and physically. The results of this will vary for different people. I'm typically the type of person who responds with food. A quick run to McDonalds, Zaxby's, Wendy's (large fries and a large Frosty anyone?), or Sonic would be the first choice. The second would be raiding the pantry or fridge to come up with the most craving-satisfying, calorie-loaded thing I can eat. That feeling hit a little while ago, and thankfully I was able to have a small snack and move on. I wonder how everyone else responds when life just wears them down? Maybe your response isn't a Baconator, Coke, Large Fry, and a Large Frosty. Maybe you get cranky or rude. Maybe you just go to sleep. Do you exercise until you don't think about how worn out you are? You might be the type that just watches TV or a movie to distract yourself. My point is that everyone responds differently. So what happens when your go to reaction is no longer an option. What happens when Wendy's closes early for you? Do you turn to something positive? Do you find strength and encouragement in making the better decision? I'm still figuring out the right response. Honestly, tonight I think I did the grumpy thing. I felt sorry for myself that I couldn't have a couple thousand calories (and a serious stomach ache). It may be from this being a long week for us. I may just need a good nights rest and then a look back at the victories I've been blessed to have this week. Regardless, there will be no fries and Frosty for me (as good as that may sound). Today may be a grumpy portion of this journey, but happy or not, I'm losing my butter half.
Not a bad day for eating. I know I need a little better balance in my protein/carb ratio. I'll work on that this weekend. Another night on the old recumbent. Thankful that I can exercise easily right here at home.
