Day Forty-Two - Best Practices for Success

For some reason I feel like I haven't done my best with eating this past week.  I've stayed around my 1500 calorie/day goal.  I just feel like some of the choices I've made weren't the best.  I'm wondering if it's the popcorn.  Does anyone else feel like even though popcorn is a lower calorie snack it doesn't feel like it.  Seriously, I feel the same as if I've just downed 1000 calories of chips/snacks after eating it?  We've also had steak (and steak leftovers) this past week, so that is a heavier meat than I normally eat.  Even though I exercised each day, I just feel like I haven't done well this week.  I guess tomorrow's weigh in will tell.  I'm really hoping I'm down, and all of this is just in my head.

It's hard to figure the weight loss process out.  I mean, with sales there are tried and true practices that you can count on.  I know that if I quote enough people consistently, I will hit my sales goals.  I keep trying to apply the same method (and confidence) to my weight loss journey.  If I will track my food,  consistently stay within my daily goal, and exercise then I will lose weight.  So what is your method? Do you have a proven system to consistently help you lose each week?  I really want to know, so please comment on here or on my Facebook post.  What are your best practices or even some useful/practical ways you can share to help me be successful in losing my butter half?

I know I did well on calories today, but because I had a slice of pizza and steak I almost feel guilty like I had a cheat day or something?  My exercising is getting to be close to a habit.  I would feel strange if I miss a day at this point.
