Day Thirty-One - One Month Down... Eleven to Go

It wasn't the greatest day of my life.  It wasn't a bad day either.  We had a yard sale (well, Bekah had a yard sale), I mailed a package, I did not hear from the service center about our car, and Kentucky football still stinks.  There was a very exciting Tennessee football game, but I thought it was over when Georgia scored with ten seconds left and missed UT's Hail Mary when I went into the kitchen for dinner.  Still, any day I get to hold my kids and be with my wife is a blessing.  I've realized that we are in a stage of life where we just don't get to do all of the fun things we used to do on a day off.  We are trying to save money so eating out or going to movies isn't in the budget.  And finances aside, doing either of those things with two kids just is more difficult than it's worth some times.

It's days like today that really would have thrown off my progress in the past.  Days when nothing is really going on.  In the past I would have snacked all day long, and most likely topped it off with pizza.  Side note*** I love pizza.  I don't know how many days it has been since we've had pizza.  We used to have it every weekend (at least).  So this is a very big deal.***  I did find myself in the pantry a few times for snacks, but I limited the amount to only a fraction of a serving each time rather than eating two to three servings.  I'm grateful for this life change.  I really like being able to see how I would have reacted in the past and compare it to my actions now.  I love having accountability from this blog.  I love the compliments my bride gives me and the pride in her voice when she commends me for keeping at this.  So here I sit, reflecting on a one month victory.  Thanking God for His grace to make it through month one.  But I know this isn't a one period game.  I know that I have eleven more months to hit my goal.  I also know that y'all will be there with me along the way.  Thank you for helping me lose my butter half.

I did much better with snacks today.  Not as many calories, and they were all spread throughout the day, rather than between dinner and bed.  Another day of exercising also!
