Day Thirty-Two - Sunday Afternoon = Snack Time!
So what would a normal Sunday look like in the past. It would flow something like this. A quick breakfast and quickly rushing out the door for church. We'd grab something to eat on the way home to sit and watch football for the rest of the day. During the game, I would usually scarf down several hundred (maybe even several thousand) calories in snacks and drinks. I loved having people over not just for the hospitality, but so I could eat lots of food my wife and I would prepare. Always the healthy things like chips and dip (Rotell and Velveeta anyone?), pizza, chicken wings, cookies, "Dagwood Sandwiches", candy, more pizza, etc. I mean who doesn't associate Sunday afternoon football with gorging on snacks? You know, just preparing the stomach for the Super Bowl feast. Not today!
So today I had a healthy breakfast, along with a modest lunch. No snacks during the games today, instead during the Broncos game, I rode the recumbent for a little while. It was a great way to not be tempted to eat. I can't imagine thinking about food while pedaling. We did have Care Group tonight, which is always a temptation to overeat. We had subs (they brought in a couple of party subs from Walmart), which was hard to track. I did my best, eating about four inches at most. The big thing for me was the fudge stripe cookies. I love them. I seriously could eat twenty-thirty in a sitting without blinking an eye. I ate my dinner and plugged it into myfitnesspal. I thought about having a cookie, but decided to check the nutrition ahead of time. I'm glad I did. Each cookie is seventy-five calories. Heck no! Right now I have no desire whatsoever to eat seventy-five calories in a tiny little cookie. So, that was definitely a small victory for me tonight. Is anyone else out there finding victories in your life? If so, feel free to comment about them on here. I'd love to hear what goals in your lives are being met. Regardless, I'm very blessed to be able to look back at past decisions, and see a major difference now that I am losing my butter half.
Great day of eating. Excited I got to exercise before 9:00 PM.
