Day Seventy-Eight - Weigh In #11 - What Are the Odds?
We are now one week from Thanksgiving and I know that for those out there trying to lose weight, that is a terrifying thought. Is it possible to go through the entire holiday and not completely blow your progress? I wonder how many of you are tempted to simply hide in your room Wednesday evening through the following Sunday? Normally I would be right there with you. Honestly, I've never been a huge Thanksgiving eater. I like the turkey and the sweet potato casserole (and of course the rolls!!!), but I'm not big on cranberry sauce or gravy. I do like the stuffing (I know. I know. It's dressing for most of us southerners, but I'm partial to Stove Top stuffing), but it really isn't hard for me to just eat a little of each and be happy. I do like a warm apple pie and ice cream (I think we'll probably avoid that this year). We'll have this conversation again during the Christmas holidays.
As always, I know you are really hear just to find out how much weight I lost this week. I imagine somewhere in Vegas, some booking agency takes bets on how much I've lost each week (I wonder what the odds are). Well if you put your money on 2.4 lbs, then you are the big winner (I think I just thought of a fun idea for future weigh ins... I'll fill you in later). I am now at 318 lbs, meaning I've lost a total of 48.2 lbs. Now this isn't my biggest weight loss. I honestly thought with the workouts I've put in, I would have been somewhere around 316 lbs. This means I still have 18lbs to lose by Christmas. I am still convinced that if I stick to my processes, then I can meet this goal. I am still headed in the right direction. I'm thankful for the weeks of big loss and small. I'm glad to be losing my butter half.
Rebekah made a delicious pizza tonight. It's still the one food that I am tempted to overeat. I know now that I have to look ahead of time to know how many calories I'm going to eat to hold myself to only two slices. I had another great workout on the bike. The last few nights I've been able to up my time to fifty minutes!
