Day Seventy-Three - Strange but True
I got to go see Dr. Strange today (no, that's not my doctors name. It's a new Marvel comic movie). I really like watching Benedict Cumberbatch act. He really pours himself into his characters. From Sherlock to Khan and Smaug to Dr. Stephen Strange it really is amazing how much he studies and perfects his role. I watched a video on the making of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and the way they attached motion sensors to a body suit and had him climb around while reciting his lines was fascinating. He fully acted out the role of the dragon (even though all we heard was his voice in the film) and the sensors translated his movements to the computers. It was pretty awesome.
I'm impressed by the dedication and work ethic Cumberbatch has towards his work. I want to be the same way when it comes to hitting my weight loss goal. I want to go above and beyond. I want to fully dive into what I need to do to meet this goal. I know I'll need the same drive and passion as well if I am going to lose my butter half. I can't halfway do it. Cumberbatch didn't just stand at a microphone and receipt his lines to be recorded when he played Smaug. He practiced moving like a reptile and climb around on the floor for hours just so the picture would be remarkable. I can't just partially track my food or barely work out (if at all), or I wouldn't find the success I'm looking for. So here is to discipline and a hard work ethic. Here is to not taking shortcuts and putting my best attempt forward. Here is to losing my butter half.
Eating today wasn't the best. I stayed around my calorie goal, but had popcorn at the theater (which I didn't eat all of but still had too much) and Rebekah's delicious homemade pizza for dinner. I did get a great exercise in this morning.
