Day Sixty-Three - Game 7 - The Wait is Over (For One Team At Least)
So I'm sitting here watching Game 7 of the World Series. Now I am a Red Sox fan (I hope I didn't just run any of you off with that statement), so I don't have a dog in this fight. I'm definitely not a Cleveland (Cavaliers, Browns, or Indians) fan, but I've never cheered for the Cubs either. I like Heyward and Lester, so I guess I'm pulling for the Cubs more. Honestly, I just enjoy great baseball. Of the games I've seen this series, this is definitely the best so far (I've only been able to watch a few). I can't imagine what it must be like to have an organization go 108 years without winning a World Series. The sense of accomplishment they will feel if they win will be indescribable.
Now I know you are thinking I'm going to try and connect my journey to lose weight to the curse that has brought a 108 year drought to the Chicago Cubs, and you would be correct. The journey to lose 166 lbs. (hopefully 116 lbs. in a year) is one that will require patience. It is a road with setbacks and frustrations. The Cubs have had setbacks and they've shown patience (not saying the Indians haven't, just the cubs drought is longer... and I don't like Cleveland sports). Just like they'll be filled with accomplishment and joy, I can only dream about the accomplishment and joy I'll feel when I hit that 250 lb. mark by next September or when I finally reach 200 or below. Tonight, I'm thinking about that feeling. That joy and accomplishment is what is motivating me to lose my butter half.
Eating was good today. It was hard to figure out the calories for dinner (Bekah made a delicious soup. Here's the recipe), but I did my best. I had a good workout and included some more interval training. I'm getting my regular night before weigh in nervousness. We'll see where I am in the morning.
