Day Ninety-Eight - Flimsy Ladders and Roofing Nails
Today is the ninety-eighth day of my journey. I can't believe I have been blogging for fourteen straight weeks now. A lot has happened during this time and a rather large portion of my butter half has been lost along the way. I am excited and optimistic for what is to come in the future. I am very thankful and grateful for the accountability each and every one of you have provided me as I'm working towards my goal.
I want to take advantage of this time to give you an update. After fourteen weeks I can tell a huge difference in how I am feeling. This is especially noticeable in my mobility and agility. A big example of this was after Thanksgiving when I needed to climb into the attic and bring down our Christmas decorations. I will be completely honest with you. I do not enjoy climbing up and crawling around the storage area above my garage. I just know at any moment when I'm up there I will get startled by something and jump up and stick my head on one of the roofing nails or knock my head on a cross beam. When you weigh 350 plus pounds, moving around up there is even worse. You feel completely unsteady, especially when on the ladder. Oh yeah, about the ladder. I'm pretty sure whoever designed those weighed about as much as my four year old. I mean really, I keep waiting for the ladder to snap like the toothpicks it is made out of. When I went up to get the Christmas decorations two weeks ago, it was completely different. I climbed straight up without issue. Once up in the attic I was able to maneuver around and grab the storage bins easily. I didn't feel shaky or uncomfortable in the least (I did however still have the fear of sticking my head on the roofing nails). My energy level has been great as well. I think it would be better if it weren't for being over-tired (attributed to an old mattress and having a one year old in the house). Other than some back pain I've been having recently (did I mention we have a really old mattress?) and the cold I had last week, I have been feeling very healthy. I love the results I'm seeing (not just my weight) and I hope you are encouraged by them (as well as your own success!). Fourteen weeks down and I'm still losing my butter half.
It was a great day for calories and exercise. Weigh in in the morning, so I'm a little antsy.
