Day One Hundred and Forty-One - Weigh in #20 - No More Mid-Night Runs to Wendy's & Taco Bell
I have now completed twenty weeks of my weight loss journey. I am getting close to the halfway point, and I get more and more excited each and every day. There is something really satisfying when you have stuck to the processes and the results are positive. There were so many times when I'd lose weight or try to lose weight in the past that I gave up. Something would happen that would take my focus off of the processes I was following and before I knew it, all of my weight would be back on (and some). Most of the time I can really see that this time is different. Sometimes I have old thoughts that creep in about hitting up Wendy's or Taco Bell for a late night 2000 carb binge, but those get fewer and further between as I walk this path. The infrequency of those temptations give me hope that by the time a year is finished those thoughts will be rare. That is why I'm excited about hitting the twenty week mark.
Along with crossing the twenty week mark comes a weigh in. I know you put up with all the mumbo jumbo above because you really just want to know how much weight I lost this week (or at least that's what I would be thinking). For everyone's information I had a great week. I dropped another 4.4 lbs this week weighing in at 287.8 lbs. That brings my total weight loss to 78.4 lbs! I'm really excited to see a good number again. I was really hoping to be under 290 lbs., and I'm very grateful to have hit that. I am almost to my halfway point (in regards to the number of pounds lost), and almost back to what I weighed three years ago when I started my job. I still weigh a lot, and I am aware that there is a long road ahead still (and probably harder road ahead). I'm fully committed to finishing this journey and I hope you are going to finish this ride with me. I'm down 78.4 lbs., and I'm losing my butter half!
My calorie intake was really good today. A delicious salad (with the smoked paprika chicken) for lunch and my wife's wonderful pot roast for dinner. Have I mentioned how awesome Bekah is? I'm really tired and have a little bit of a sinus headache (will this cold season every go away for good?), so I only did thirty minutes on the bike tonight.
