Day One Hundred and Forty-Two - Hard or Soft Tacos?

I saw this today, and really got a good laugh out of it.  Especially after my post last night about late night trips for "4th Meal" at Taco Bell.  Let's take a moment and think through this.  I honestly don't know if I was ever the person that loved food so much that I'd rather enjoy the food than be skinny (also, I'm not looking to be skinny, rather I'm wanting to be healthy).  I wanted to lose weight. I hated looking in the mirror each day, but I just didn't have the motivation to get there.  For some of you though, I wonder if this statement is accurate.  It may not be tacos, it may be pizza or chocolate.  It may not be food at all.  Maybe it's not food.  Maybe it is an unhealthy or destructive habit.  I'm sure we could come up with examples all night, but the point is some of you have something in your life that is harming you, and you'd rather choose it than being healthy.

I want to make sure I am not conveying the wrong message here.  I don't think that in order to lose weight and be healthy that you have to stop eating things you love.  I hope that I've shown exactly the opposite throughout my blogging.  I am still eating foods I really enjoy.  I just enjoy a smaller amount of it.  Yes, there are times that I turn down something because I know it isn't best at that time.  If I've already had some snacks I probably shouldn't have desert or more snacks that evening.  Yes, I am learning to enjoy healthier choices.  I'm eating salads and organic snacks (ok, the Black Forest Organic gummy snacks at Kroger are really great) as well as egg whites for breakfast.  I still enjoy pizza, burgers, and chips.  I just don't have them as often and I am careful to weigh and measure my portions.  I am proving that you don't have to give up your favorite foods to lose weight.  Oh, and the answer to the question... soft tacos (especially Bekah's tacos with Taco Bell fire sauce).  I'm losing weight while eating great food, and I'm losing my butter half.

I had a great day for my calorie intake.  Bekah made the best soups tonight.  The chicken chili (like a southwest taco soup flavor) was amazing!  Also, even though I still have a little sinus pressure, I was able to get in a full workout tonight.
