Day One Hundred and Twenty-Four - Vacation is Over

Lazy Morning!
We've started several projects around our home.  If you remember I built a workbench out in my garage (see here).  I needed to rehang the 2x4s the table was hinged on so that the table would fold down flat against the wall.  Thanks to some awesome help from my dad and my brother-in-law, I was able to get the table fixed and also hang some pegboard up on the wall.  I've wanted to have pegboard in the garage since we moved in.  Bekah also has a really great project she is working on for our living room that I will share once it's completed later this week.  I'm grateful to have completed a few projects before the end of my vacation.  It's been strange to be off this many days in a row.  I have very much enjoyed the time with my wife and kids, but I'm ready to get back to my daily work.  I really do love what I do each day and the opportunity to help people every day.  Work also provides a routine.  It is hard for me to have this many days without a routine.

Finished!
Sometimes routine can become a rut, but at other times it provides structure for good habits.  I know that the routine of work really helps with my eating as well as working out and blogging each night.  I think it's the down time when I'm off that provides opportunity to overeat as well as eating things that I wouldn't normally eat.  Is this the same for everyone?  Do you find yourself more apt to snack or overeat on your days off?  I think the best thing to do is to work on projects.  While I was working on my projects today, it was very easy to stay out of the kitchen and avoid snacking and overeating.  So here's to working hard, and making good use of my off time in 2017.  Who's with me?  Vacation's over, and I'm working hard to lose my butter half!

My calorie intake today was much better than the previous few days.  I had a salad and fruit today, so I'm very glad about that.  I got a workout in, but with my projects out in the garage I only completed a thirty minute ride.
