Day One Hundred and Twenty-Three - New Year, New Me!

Wow! What a difference a year makes.  B has put on sixteen pounds and I have lost seventy!  It's so awesome to see my little boy growing so big and strong (seriously, I just had to pull him off a rubbermaid because he keeps climbing on top of it).  I'm glad to know that the life changes I'm making now will help me be here as he grows up.  I also like seeing the difference in my face after losing weight.  I can only imagine what it will look like at this time in 2018!

Since today is the first of 2017, I want to take a moment and talk about this next year.  Typically this is the time of year people will make resolutions.  Some people will join a gym or start a new hobby.  Others will begin to budget and try to get out of debt.  I've already begun the biggest life change, so I do plan to continue what I've started.  There are a few other things I want to work on as well.  Instead of making resolutions though, I am setting goals for the year.  Here are a few of my goals for 2017:

  • Hit 200 lbs (lose another 95.8)
  • Get selected for a State Farm agency
  • Run 2 miles (continuously - I'm planning to start running again in the late Spring)
  • Pay off some of our debt
  • Enjoy a getaway with Bekah for our seventh anniversary in July
  • Read six books
So what are your goals?  What are you going to do to better yourself this year?  I know in my personal life I haven't been improving year after year.  I might even say that I've taken steps back.  I'm glad to know that I didn't waste the last third of 2016, and I know I can utilize all of 2017.  It's a new year, and I'm going to lose my butter half!

My calories today were not very good.  I had too many unhealthy snack foods.  I think my body is upset at the lack of fruits and vegetables.  I really need to remedy this tomorrow.  I hope these past two days haven't set me back any.  I will need to be very careful the next few days.  I am happy to say that I was able to fit in a full workout this afternoon!
