I'm not sure how it is for you, but for me Mondays are typically the worst day of the week. Thankfully that wasn't the case today. I had a great day at work and I've had a wonderful evening with my family. We had a delicious taco dinner (with amazing restaurant style queso blanco. Recipe here) and just an overall good evening as a family. Today was a win!
Sometimes that's exactly what you need when you are on a journey like this. There are so many hard days when you are trying to reach a goal. There are days when you feel like you are trudging through six feet of mud (and you haven't even walked out the front door). There are temptations and struggles that can pop up out of thin air. There are set backs and days that you can't find the energy to work out. There are even days you just want to quit. So when you have a good day it just seems like it's something that should be celebrated. However, I'm still realistic. I know that today's win won't automatically mean I'll have another win tomorrow. I know that "yesterday's home runs don't win today's games" (Babe Ruth), so I have to be ready to play hard again tomorrow. Until tomorrow comes, I will celebrate today. I'm celebrating a great day and an amazing evening with my family (dinner, reading books, and family devotion and singing before bed tonight). I'm grateful for today, and I know it's inspiring me to keep on losing my butter half.
My calories were good today and I just finished a full one hour workout tonight!
