One Hundred and Twenty-Five - Fixer Upper, UK Basketball, and Time With E!

Sometimes we have to adjust our plans to accommodate our children.  B was having trouble getting to sleep and Bekah had just gotten E out of the tub.  I was working out on the bike, so I told E she could come hang out with me while I rode.  Normally I use my time on the bike to watch a "Daddy show" (nothing immoral, just a show or movie not suitable for young eyes and ears).  Tonight, E wanted to watch Fixer Upper (a regular show in the Vickers home) while I was riding.  I really wanted to watch something other than a HGTV show, but it was pretty much the only thing on that I could let her watch.  So we enjoyed Chip and Joanna Gains while I finished my ride.

I try to make a conscious effort to protect my child's eyes (and childhood for that matter).  She may not fully understand why I tell her to close her eyes or I change the channel during some commercials, but she knows that Daddy does it because I love her.  I love to spend time with her. So after a long day, when I really don't want to be on the bike (and watching an entertaining action movie would help), I will treasure the opportunity to watch Fixer Upper with E.  The best part was after the ride.  E and I got to cheer on our Kentucky Wildcats (you should here her say "C! A! T! S! CATS! CATS! CATS!)!  Since B was having trouble sleeping, E and I got to watch the entire first half together (she was thrilled).  So while my evening didn't go as planned, and my workout was a little more tedious watching Fixer Upper, I got to spend quality time with my daughter.  Tonight it's E who is on my mind, and it's for her that I'm losing my butter half!

My calories were good today and I got in a good workout.  I am approaching another weigh in this Thursday, and I am hoping that I have lost again over the New Year holiday.
