Saturdays are special. It's time for me to spend with my family. I get to focus on my house or projects away from work. Today I got to hang out with B while Bekah took E to a friends birthday party (at Chuck E Cheese!). Spending the morning with my one-year-old son was great. He is a sweet boy, but can be such a goof. He woke up from his morning nap happy and chatty. We played with tons of toys, and he'd repeatedly drop things through the gate to our kitchen and say, "Uh-oh!" When I fed him lunch he downed a pouch of baby food, and then went absolutely nuts when I pulled out the Cheerios. You would have thought I was giving the kid cake and ice cream.
One of the best things about losing weight is the way it lets me interact with my kids. When I was at my heaviest, lifting them and holding them was difficult. I never got down on the floor to play with them because it was uncomfortable and difficult to get up and down. This morning was different. I held B and rocked him to sleep. I carried him around when he woke from his nap. The best part was crawling around playing with B. We'd use a blanket to play peek-a-boo and hide in our Paw Patrol lookout tower. We wrestled and I chased him around. His giggles are contagious and will warm any heart. I am so excited to see this little boy grow up, and losing weight will help make that possible. It amazes me that a few changes have made such a difference. I want to encourage you if you are struggling on your journey. Just make a few small changes, and then see how much of a difference it makes in your life. My changes are allowing me to spend quality time with my kids. Small changes are helping me to lose my butter half.
My calories today have been good. I had a delicious salad (pictured above) and Bekah made me salmon patties for dinner along with a tomato and carrot bisque. I put a ranch/hot sauce mixture on the patties and it was absolutely delicious! I got a full workout in this afternoon, so now I can relax and watch Kentucky play!
