I'm not sure about all of you out there in the blogosphere, but when we went from one, to two children our lives drastically changed. The amount of sleep we get has decreased as well as our time alone. Please, don't misunderstand me on this. We love our children. B is such a joy to us and a blessing from God. I would take a thousand sleepless nights over not having that dimpled grin in our family. That doesn't make the lack of time together any easier. Suffice it to say, when we actually get a moment to spend alone, we are very excited.
We have wanted to see La La Land for a while now. Bekah and I are both fans of musicals, and also the fact that the movie doesn't have any sex or nudity is a rare find these days (there was a little more language than Bekah and I would prefer). We decided to schedule a date night to grab dinner and see the picture. It was so great. We had dinner at Panera (which is not a place I would ever have chosen in the past). Let me tell you, their creamy tomato soup is delicious. My sandwich was tasty, but I think I'll go for a panini next time (I don't enjoy paying for cold food other than ice cream). The hardest thing was not eating all of the extra french bread that comes with the soup. I was tempted to down all of it! The movie was really fun. The story line was good, but the music was great. It made me feel like I should be singing and dancing as I left the theater. In fact Bekah and I were running/dancing on the way to the car, laughing the whole way. I thought the film started a little slow, but didn't take long to pick up. I wasn't a fan of the opening number, it really felt like they were forcing the song. The movie as a whole really is good and I think it is deserving of the praise the critics and academy are giving it right now. If you haven't seen it, go! Enjoy it with a friend or loved one. I got to go out with the most beautiful woman tonight. For some reason she loves me no matter what. I thank God for her each day. She's helping me lose my butter half.
I can't say that my calorie intake was perfect tonight. I ate too much popcorn at the movie, but I did keep myself from absolutely downing an entire large (like I would have in the past). Even though it was late when we got home, I am glad that I was able to get an entire ride in on the bike! Thank you everyone for the encouragement!
