Day One Hundred and Sixty-Five - My Weekend Was Too Short... But I Love Those I Spent It With!

I'm wondering if the weekend goes by as fast for all of you as it does for me.  Seriously, lately it seems as though I get off work on Friday evening, blink, and then it's Sunday evening.  The worst part is, it isn't like we did anything that took up our entire weekend.  We just hung out at the house and played, took a walk around the neighborhood, went to church, did some grocery shopping, and BAM! I'm writing my Sunday night blog.  I really guess I shouldn't complain though.  Even with as short as the weekend feels, I still got to spend my time with the best family in the world.

I'm not sure I really understand people who don't like to spend time with their family.  Especially fathers.  How can you not want to invest in the very people you are responsible for?  Now I'm talking about immediate family.  Your spouse and kids should be your favorite people in the world.  I am so blessed to be able to say that I really enjoy all three of them.  Of course there are moments that I want to get away and just relax for a few minutes, but I get that opportunity regularly when I'm exercising.  I use that time to clear my head and then it's back to reading books, playing ball, and wrestling.  When I see how quick the days go by and kids are growing up, it propels me to work hard to get healthy.  I want to be in the best shape I can so that I can be there for my wife and kids.  They deserve my best, and I am determined to give that to them.  I want to be able to run with my kids as they get older, and teach them to play sports.  I want to be able to dance with Bekah and go for walks or other adventures.  So while my weekend may have seemed short, it was more than enough to remind me of the reasons I'm on this journey.  Two days will inspire me for weeks to keep losing my butter half!

My calories today were good.  I did eat pizza for dinner, but I had carrots to go with it.  Man, it's amazing how overly full I feel from two pieces of pizza!  I am still rocking and rolling on the workouts.  I got another solid fifty minutes in on the bike!
