Day One Hundred and Eighty-Eight - Avoiding the Whirlwind

Why is it that there isn't enough time each day to complete everything we need to do?  It seems that there are days when every time I complete something there are four more tasks screaming for my attention.  I had so much to do today that I still feel as though I didn't get everything accomplished.  I really don't think I'm the only one who's had this happen.  I get the feeling it is a regular occurrence with the majority of people.  I always hear "if only there were more hours in a day" or "the day just flew by."  At work we call this the whirlwind.  Lately, whether it is at work or at home, I feel as though I have gotten caught up in the whirlwind.

So what do we do to avoid the whirlwind?  What do we do to avoid getting caught up in the craziness and busyness?  We go back to our processes to keep us focused and on track.  At work we have clear goals, we have a plan, we track systematically, and then hold each other accountable (if you haven't read The 4 Disciplines of Execution I highly recommend it).  I have been very good at implementing this with my weight loss journey so far.  If you are stuck along your journey, whatever your goal, just return to the processes you started with.  Remember what your goal is and return to what was working in the beginning.  The processes I've set in place and made habit in my life are what have given me success so far.  So when it comes to weeks when I don't feel my best, I know I can rely on these processes.  It's been an odd week for me and I'm not sure how my weigh in this Thursday will be.  But that won't stop me from following my processes and losing my butter half.

My calorie intake today was really good.  For some reason I'm still feeling bloated though.  I woke up and had another full workout before work this morning.  Six AM comes way too early each morning.
