Day One Hundred and Eighty-Four - Six Months Down, I'm Halfway There!
It's hard to believe that I have been on this weight loss journey for six months now. Some days it seems like I have just begun my journey. At the same time I've now been on this journey long enough that the changes I've made are habits. Because of this I really can't imagine what it would be like to go back to how things were before. This journey really has been a life change for me. Let's take a quick review of the past six months.
I began my journey on September first. It wasn't a perfect start, but it didn't take long for me to hit a groove. In the first month I lost almost twenty pounds. I immediately noticed changes in how I felt and the extra energy I had. October was also a great month and I dropped another twenty pounds. November was a fifteen pound drop and in December I lost fifteen more pounds. December was a huge milestone for me because I got below (and have stayed below) three hundred pounds before Christmas. That completed a major goal for me. In January I kept up the pace as I lost another fourteen pounds. February was rough for me. It was the hardest month so far and I lost a little over nine pounds. Looking back it is the only month that I didn't have double digit loss. When you add it all up, I have lost ninety-three (+) pounds in six months. That means I have lost an average of fifteen and two-thirds pounds per month or just over three and a half pounds per week. I know I've slowed down a lot, but I still want to average two to two and a half pounds per week for this next six months.
I want to make sure I say that I am so grateful for the success I've experienced and I want to make sure that I give credit where it is due. I know that I have put in a lot of hard work these past six months, but I also know it would not have been possible without God's grace, a loving and helpful wife, and faithful readers to hold me accountable. I am halfway through my journey and I am still losing my butter half!
My calorie intake today was good. I feel stuffed from dinner, which is a feeling I rarely feel these days. I weighed everything, so I know I didn't go over my calories. Maybe it was the fact that the roast and potatoes are a comfort food for me. Rebekah really does a great job with pot roast. It was very flavorful and the potatoes were delicious. I completed an entire week of getting up early and working out before I go to work. I am definitely more tired throughout the day, but I am hoping that will go away as my body adjusts and I get to bed early.
