I started to think through the differences in our road trip this past week and the ones we used to take. One of the biggest differences was our meals. In the past we would have eaten out multiple times while traveling. I would have had several large combos (and more). I also used to drink multiple large sodas each day I would be driving. During the drive I would easily consume 2000 to 3000 calories (sitting for hours expending very little energy). This doesn't include the large number of snacks and candy I'd buy at gas stations (we all know about the horrors of the cooler of Snickers and Twix ice cream bars). I can't even begin to estimate the amount of money we (mainly me) would spend on a road trip. This trip we packed PB&J sandwiches for lunch. We brought our snacks. We brought goldfish, pretzels, homemade popcorn, fruit, and more. It is so encouraging to see the changes that are occurring just because I decided to lose weight six months ago. I am enjoying my life change(s), and I'm still losing my butter half.
The blessing of being home is that I am back on a normal eating schedule. I had my eggs and sausage for breakfast, salad for lunch, and a healthy dinner. This is the best! I know I missed the early morning workout, but I am glad I had time to get my work in when I got home this evening.
