Day Two Hundred and Fifty-Seven - It's Time For an Update

If you are following my blog then you already know that I am finally back under two hundred and fifty pounds.  I thought this would be an appropriate time to provide a little update for how I'm feeling and also any changes I've noticed.  I'm beginning to get glimpses of the me I knew back in my late teens and early twenties.  I feel stronger and more mobile than I have in years.  I can tell a difference in the way I stand and even when walking around.  There is less pain in my knees and back as well.  I can bend and stretch much easier.  This morning while doing my planks, I was thinking that there is no way I could even do fifteen seconds in a plank ten months ago.  If I did, I would be so sore the next day.

A huge thing that I've also noticed is climbing the ladder up to the attic storage in our garage.  I used to hate climbing the ladder.  I was so unstable both on the ladder and when moving around once up there.  Now, it's a breeze.  I can scoot straight up the ladder and moving around is nothing.  You really don't realize how much life you are missing out on when you are as big as I was.  Normal life activities left me sore.  Mowing the yard would require a days rest, and walking any distance would leave my feet aching terribly.  I am so grateful for this change. The energy level increase, the healthy gut (thanks to Plexus), and the mobility increase is almost like a breath of fresh air.  As great as my results have been so far, I'm not finished yet!  I'm still losing my butter half!

My calories today were really good until tonight.  I didn't do a great job of avoiding snacks this evening.  I still stayed within my goal, just need to make better choices (too many crackers).  My workout this morning was really good.  I only have a few more days before I start adding push ups.  I have a feeling those will be interesting.
