Day Two Hundred and Fifty-Six - Happy Mother's Day!

Once a year we as a nation stop to observe someone in each of our lives who is very important.  Actually, I think we could all agree that without this certain person in each of our lives, none of us would even be here.  She is the one who fed us, taught us, and made owies better when we were kids.  She is always the one whose cooking you compare food to.  She is the one who "brought you into this world" (and the one who can take you out when you get too big for your britches).  She is also the one who no one is allowed to talk bad about, ever!  She is momma, mom, mommy, mum, ma, or mother.

Moms rarely get the recognition they deserve.  They tirelessly clean house, cook dinner, give hugs, read books, drive to practices and games, stay up late, get stains out of uniforms, and do more laundry than humanly possible.  Honestly, we should all be thanking our mothers for their tireless effort they put into our upbringing with rarely a thank you.  I'm sure mine could have strangled me a time or twenty for the way I spoke to or treated her.  I know I can't say thank you enough, and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone.  So on this mother's day, I want to thank the two most wonderful mothers in my life.  To my wife.  Bekah, you are an amazing mother.  Our children adore you and your love brings joy to our home.  I am so grateful for you and the way you teach and raise our children.  You're the most amazing caregiver when they are sick and your compassion doesn't end.  Thank you for walking through this journey of life with me and for all you do for our kids.  I also want to thank my mother.  She has loved me since before I was born.  She has supported me along this journey, sometimes waiting up to read my posts.  I know she is reading this one right now, and I want to make sure to tell her thank you.  Thank you for the love, the patience, and the prayers.  Thank you for supporting and believing in me (and the majority of my harebrained ideas).  Thank you for loving Bekah like your own daughter and being the best Granma to my two blessings.  Thank you for raising me to follow after Christ.  Your support throughout this journey has been wonderful and a big part of me losing my butter half!

My calories today were good.  I didn't eat anything that would blow my diet, but I did have popcorn.  I really don't like to have popcorn more than once during a week.  I bought some Jimmy Dean Egg Frittatas (frozen) for breakfast so that Bekah could have a morning off from dishes.  At Bekah's request we had salads for lunch (I had no complaints), and then I made a pepper jack grilled cheese for dinner.  My workout this morning went great.  I was glad to get it in before heading to church.
