Each weekend Kroger has an item that you can get for free just by adding it to your account in their app. It is usually some new product that they are trying to market. It isn't always something that we enjoy (I think it was a can of dog or cat food once), but most of the time it is something really good. I will go ahead and say that the majority of the products are not the healthiest of choices. It is usually something like chips, candy, or desserts. This weeks is Ritz Crisp and Thins (Rebekah chose the sea salt version). I'm not gonna lie, they are delicious. They are puffy and light, really like eating a chip. The problem is that they are completely addicting. I looked at the serving size (21 crisps), and thought "oh wow, I can eat a lot of these and still not eat an entire serving". Before I even realized it (don't worry, I was counting) there was a siren in my head going off "Danger! Danger!"
It is very easy to overeat snacks, and can happen in mere seconds. I know if it weren't for my daily tracking and having to post it on here each day, I would overeat most days. If you haven't started tracking your food intake, please start soon. There are tons of calorie counters out there, so it really doesn't matter which you choose. I really like myfitnesspal a lot, and find it simple to use. I promise you will be shocked at how many calories you are consuming each day. I know I was. It's been two hundred and sixty-two days of tracking my calories, and I'm still losing my butter half.
My calorie intake was good today. I had too many snacks (dang you Ritz!), but I still stayed within my calorie goal. I was really excited this morning to hit ten straight push-ups. I don't know if I'll be able to hit that every day, but I'm going to keep working on it until I can hit fifteen straight!
