Day Two Hundred and Eighty-Eight - Weigh in #41 - No Power, No Work, No Results

At one o'clock this afternoon we completely lost power.  One moment we were working away, and in the blink of an eye we were sitting in the dark.  This has happened a few times, but the power always returned after just a little while.  This time it was different.  A tree had fallen on the main power lines out at the road, and had caused an outage for the entire street.  It made me think a lot about my weight loss so far.  When the power went out, we were unable to complete our work.  We didn't have what we needed to power our computers so that we could run insurance quotes or service our customers' policies.  In the same way losing weight requires a force inside that enables you to do the work necessary to reach your goal.  There is a gumption or spark that fuels the discipline to eat right and exercise.  Without that spark, without the necessary grace, there is no power to lose weight.

I know I'm rambling, so I'll get right to my weigh in details.  Last week I had a huge loss of over four pounds.  I knew I wouldn't lose that much again this week, but I was still hoping to be down at least two pounds.  I fell a little short of that goal this week.  As of this morning I was down another 1.4 lbs.  This brings my total weight loss to 129.6 lbs., with a current weight of 236.6 lbs.  I am very excited to have lost again, because I was a little worried about the number of snacks and carb heavy foods I had this past week.  The best thing is that I'm still heading in the right direction.  If I can average a little more than I lost this week, I will hit my goal of 220 lbs. by September 1st.

My calories weren't the best today.  I had some candy and then had chips with dinner.  I have a few meals that I'll need to be cautious with these next few days, and then I'll have to be a little more careful for the rest of this week.  My workout today was really good.  I'm still improving on my push-ups, and my crunches are still at three sets of twenty.
