Day Two Hundred and Eighty-Four - PIZZA! PIZZA! PIZZA!

For years now I've been wanting a wood fire pizza oven.  I'd watch HGTV and see them building these amazing brick ovens and wishing I could build one in my yard.  Well, I priced out how much it would be to build or buy one, and realized very quickly that this was not a possibility for my budget.  Also, we have a really small yard and patio, so there was no space for one even if it was affordable.  I had all but given up hope on having a pizza oven, so I worked hard to perfect grilling pizza on my gas grill (Alton Brown has an amazing recipe here).  On Memorial Day, I got a Brad's Deals email that had an adapter kit for kettle-style charcoal grills that turns the grill into a pizza oven (see kit here).  I had never seen anything like this before.  I read through all of the reviews on Amazon to make sure it was a legit, and was happy to see positive reviews.  Still, I didn't feel like it was in our budget to buy this type of toy.  Then Bekah reminded me of a gift card we have had for a little while.  Since the kit was on sale, she suggested that I buy it.  I am so glad I did!

I know that pizza isn't the most healthy food.  That is why I love the way I've gone about losing.  I can eat whatever I want to eat, I just have to track it and stay within my calories.  As I've lost weight, I've learned that there are certain foods that help me stay within my calorie goal each day.  Also, as I've gotten my gut healthy with Plexus products, my cravings and desires for certain foods has changed (who ever imagined I would eat a salad every day for lunch or stop eating french fries???).  Still, my love of pizza has never swayed.  I don't eat it nearly as much as I used to, because of the large number of calories.  We used the oven for the first time tonight, and I only had two slices.  That is a huge difference from the amount of pizza I used to eat.  Thankfully I had Plexus Block to help me block the absorption of carbs and sugars from the pizza.  I'm so excited to be able to still eat my favorite food (with self-control and Plexus Block), and even more excited to be able to make amazing pizza at home.  It's awesome to still be able to eat pizza while losing my butter half.

My calories today were not good.  I ate a ton of gummy bears earlier which was really dumb.  I knew we were making pizza tonight, and I should have avoided extra calories during the day.  My workout today went great, but I re-injured my chest picking Brantley up tonight.  This is the same way I had hurt it a few months back.  I hope it doesn't take as long to heal this time around.
