This weight loss journey really has changed my life in ways I never imagined. First, the fact that I get up every morning around 5:40 AM. I've always wanted to be an early to bed and early to rise person (who doesn't want to be healthy, wealthy, and wise?), and I have the early to rise part down. Now I need to get the whole early to bed part down. I originally started getting up early to work out to increase my availability to spend time with my family each evening, but it has helped my spiritual life as well. Because I am up early each morning, I can spend time reading my Bible and praying. The doors my journey has opened up for me to talk to others about weight loss have been really cool. I have so many people who ask me what I'm doing or how I've done this. Every time these people give me the chance to talk to the discipline, processes, and accountability it takes to lose. I also get to talk about Plexus products (which are becoming a passion of mine), and how my gut has improved. In fact, next week I have been given an opportunity to talk about my journey to better health, live online. I've heard that there will be a ton of people on live as I speak. This makes me a little nervous, so I want to ask for a favor. It would be great to know that some of you who already know about my journey are on supporting me. So if you can, please join in on Tuesday, June 13th at 8:30 PM(CST). I'll provide more details next week.
I know you are really just waiting to see how my weigh in went today, so we'll get right to it. As with the previous thirty-nine Thursday mornings, I once again stepped onto the cold, glass surface that is my bathroom scale. After being sick last week, I wasn't sure where I would be this morning. I was pretty confident that I would be down, but I thought after not eating for a couple days when I was ill, that it may have only been a little bit. Apparently I was wrong (in a good way). As of this morning, I am down another 4.6 lbs! This brings my total weight loss to 128.2 lbs. My current weight is now at 238 lbs. even. This absolutely blew my mind. I mean, I had pizza, candy, and other not so wise choices this past week. The difference is that I was careful on those days to make sure I still remained in my target calorie goal for the day. When I paired that with some great workouts, I was able to maintain what I lost from being sick. I know that at this stage in my journey, this amount of weight loss will not be the norm. I am sure that it will taper back off around my 2 lbs. per week goal from here out. Still, I am excited about this loss! I am still on track to hit my September 1st goal. I'm down 4.6 lbs., and I am losing my butter half!
My calories today were good. I allowed myself to have a Reese's egg (frozen from Easter) after dinner. I mowed tonight, so I just grabbed a left over hot dog and ate it really quick. Not a healthy dinner, but I did have my normal salad for lunch and a banana and smoothie today. My workout today was great. I also got all 10,000 steps in because I mowed the lawn tonight.
