Day Two Hundred and Ninety-Four - Out for a Run

I have run for three nights in a row now.  Tonight I took another twenty-two seconds off of my mile.  I took thirty-eight seconds off of my total run time.  I don't plan to run every night (my quads need the rest), but I want to make sure I'm hitting the pavement at least four nights a week.  I'm not giving up on the recumbent, rather I'm adding to my daily exercise.  I'm going to be honest.  I don't like running.  The thing that is pushing me forward and getting me through each run so far has been (well obviously God's grace) determination.  I've gotten so used to setting and hitting goals, that the desire to meet another goal is now becoming a fuel source for me.  I also know that running will help me lose inches on my torso that riding the recumbent won't.  It's supposed to storm the next few nights, so we'll see how many days I'll have to wait to run again.

I went to a work social at our local minor league baseball game tonight.  They had a suite rented and tons of delicious smelling food.  I say smelling because tonight I didn't eat a single bite.  Sure, I wanted to eat something.  They had popcorn, chips, burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, hotdogs, and more.  In years past I would have had a plateful of food and several soft drinks.  Tonight I planned ahead.  I came home before the social and ate a delicious dinner Bekah made.  Salmon with vegetables.  It was amazing!  Losing weight isn't easy.  It takes time and a lot of hard work.  It also takes planning.  Sure there is some room for spontaneity, but the majority of your success will be based on your planning.  It's the first step along the journey.  So if you haven't done anything yet, but you are in the "I'm done making excuses" category, then make a plan tonight.  You'll be amazed how inspired and motivated you'll be just from thinking through a plan.  It's where I started back in August of 2016, and it's still helping me lose my butter half.

My calories today were ok.  I did really great with what I chose to put in my body, but I didn't eat enough calories.  It wasn't intentional, and it isn't something that I want to have happening on a regular basis.  My workout today went well, and then I ran another mile and a third tonight.  I'm slowly making progress running at night, so I am very pleased with my progress so far.
