Day Two Hundred and Ninety-Three - Where To Start
A few weeks back I wrote a blog entry on excuses. I wrote about all the excuses I used to use for not losing weight, and then talked about the excuses people give me for why they aren't losing weight. I thought I did a decent job of pointing out that anyone can make the necessary changes to get healthy. Well, I know I offered a few suggestions, but I want to make sure I help you get started any way I can. Today I read an article by Lily Lou from lifehacker. It explains many ways to overcome excuses you may have for why you aren't exercising. Take a moment and read what she has to say. If you are ready to move past your excuses, but don't know how, this is the article for you.
So, if you saw my Facebook or Instagram posts last night, you know that I ran for the first time in years. I've been holding off until I thought I was ready to hit the pavement again. I honestly didn't think I would make it half a mile, but amazingly I was able to run a mile and a quarter without stopping. It was a huge victory for me! I don't think I have run a mile without stopping since before I got married. My quads are feeling it today. Getting in and out of my desk chair at work was pretty much miserable. I don't know how frequently I am going to be doing this, but eventually I want to get to the point that I am running each day. I know that running is going to make a huge difference in shedding weight and inches. I am excited with the progress I'm making as I lose my butter half.
My calories were great again today. I avoided snacking and stuck to my diet. We had the leftovers from last night's grilled chicken. My workout this morning was much better than yesterday. Still, since my legs were so sore from last nights run, my push-ups and planks were anything but comfortable.
