Day Two Hundred and Ninety-Two - Feeling the Weekend Foods

Getting to hang out with family is great.  I loved seeing my parents over the weekend and spending time with my sister and her family.  There is one downside though, and that is that when families gather, they tend to eat.  Our family is no exception.  Breaking bread (or pizza dough!) is always a great time of fun and fellowship for us.  This past weekend I wasn't as focused on carefully choosing what I put in my body.  From David's Burgers (if you come to Little Rock you have to try David's.  Their burgers are awesome, but their chicken sandwich is even better) to McDonald's and homemade pizza, this weekend wasn't my best.  Still, getting to spend time with the people I love doesn't have a price on it.  Also, seeing the differences in the amount of food I ate with each of these meals was very encouraging.

So today I'm getting back on track.  I enjoyed a great egg and sausage breakfast, and then my normal salad for lunch.  My dinner was right on target as well.  Bekah made the chicken marinade again and grilled up some chicken and peaches, and then baked sweet potatoes.  I wish I had taken a picture, she really did a fantastic job!  Taking yesterday off from working out made today's workout much harder than normal.  The bike ride wasn't that bad, but the crunches, push-ups, and planks were a lot more difficult than normal.  The worst part was having to get up and out of bed.  When you've had a few days with family, not enough sleep, and poor food choices it all culminates into temptations to sleep in.  I knew that if I gave in to that, it may put my weight loss journey in jeopardy.  I'm not exaggerating when I say that.  Every time I've lost weight in the past, there was something that derailed me.  Maybe an event or an illness.  It was something that caused me to miss a workout and then the laziness would kick in.  The one missed workout would turn into two or three.  It wouldn't take long before the good habits I had started would be gone, and the weight would come back on.  That is why I pushed through this morning.  I will not allow everything to slip away and go back.  This time I will keep pushing to lost my butter half.

Like I mentioned before, my calories today were great.  I'm glad to be back on track with my food choices.  I was able to complete a full workout this morning.  It wasn't my best workout, but I still made it through.  With some rest tonight I should be able to have a great workout in the morning!
