Day Three Hundred and Fourteen - The Good and Bad of Repetition

So I've been trying to figure out what to write about tonight, and I'm coming up short on ideas.  I am also tired and have lost my voice, so I was going to use that as an excuse to just post my tracker and head off to bed.  Then I realized that I don't need to be able to speak to write a blog post... darn.  I know I've said this before, but it really is difficult to come up with something to say each and every day.  Recently I went back to some of my early posts and read a few of them.  They were really great (in my opinion).  I was surprised by the fact that I had a lot to talk about, and I really felt like the posts were entertaining.  These days, it seems like there isn't much depth to my writing, which is fairly frustrating.  I feel like my blogs are equivalent to the story about a cute cat or otter that makes the five o'clock news.  It's like I'm trying to create something that isn't there.

When we are trying to reach a goal, the journey can be long, and sometimes very repetitive.  I find myself in a cycle (one I created) as I'm moving towards my weight loss goal.  I eat the same breakfast and lunch each day.  Today's workout is identical to the one I did yesterday.  It was only a matter of time before my posts became just as repetitious as the rest of my journey.  I guess I'm learning that there is both a good and bad side to repetition.  The consistency in my workouts and food are helping me to reach my final weight, and blogging each day keeps me accountable.  On the other hand, eating the same thing can occasionally (I really don't mind eating the same thing each day) grow boring.  My blogs grow stale and lack a pizazz that I want them to have.  Still, I know that these processes will help me to reach my end goal.  So even if I can't come up with better content, I'm not going to let that stop me from losing my butter half.

My calories today were great!  I completely avoided the ice cream tonight!  Bekah made me a delicious Southwest Salad for dinner.  My workout this morning went well, and I mowed tonight which helped me hit my steps.  Because I mowed, I skipped out on my run.  I'll have to be sure to hit that pavement again tomorrow night.
