Day Three Hundred and Twenty-Five - It's Been an Eventful Saturday
It's been a busy day for our family. We had E's birthday party today, and there was so much to do to get ready for it. It seems that no matter how much you plan, something will always come up and derail those plans. We got out of the house in time (a major feat for us), and even made it to the store an hour before we needed to be set up and the party started. We were getting the balloons filled at the store which was right next to our church (we were using the activity center for the party). They told Bekah it shouldn't take long to fill the balloons. She went and bought a few things while they were supposedly filling the balloons, but when she came back twenty minutes later, they weren't ready. It took another half hour before they had the balloons ready (did I mention there were only about 2 dozen of them?). Needless to say, we didn't arrive to set up before the party was supposed to be starting.
Sometimes when trying to reach a goal, something happens to derail your plans. It doesn't matter how well you've planned, circumstances can change in a heartbeat. Don't get discouraged. Just do your best to roll with it and stay on track. You may not get to your destination right when you are planning, but that doesn't mean you won't arrive. For me, these past few weeks have been a derailment. I honestly don't know if I'll hit my September first goal anymore. I could just accept that I'm going to weigh right around two hundred and thirty pounds, or I can keep working hard, and realize that I'll just reach my goal a little later than I had planned. The point is, that I'm still going to get there. I'm not going to let some detours stop me. I am still going to lose my butter half.
I did a good job with calories today. I had a little bit of ice cream at E's party, but overall, I was happy with my food choices. I didn't work out today, but I mowed the yard (in 90+ degree heat) this morning, and I also played basketball for a long time at the party. Tomorrow I'm going to get back to my biking, body-weight workout, and probably a run.
