I can't believe I'm less than three weeks from hitting the one year mark. If you remember some of my first blogs, I talked about it only taking twenty-one days to create a habit. Throughout this journey I have worked hard to developed several good habits, but I'd like to work on some more. I think one habit that I am lacking (that I had worked on during the year) still is reading. I don't read enough. I need to start reading for at least fifteen minutes each day. If I do this, then I should be able to read at least two or three books per year. I know that reading is key in mental stimulation (and may even help prevent Dementia and Alzheimer's), it helps expand the vocabulary and reduce stress, it can improve memory function, and it can improve focus and attention. So if I start tonight, then I can develop one last healthy habit before I hit the one year mark. I'm going to start with John Piper's When I Don't Desire God. I'm excited to be starting a new habit while I'm losing my butter half.
My calories are all messed up for today. I am still dealing with a few stomach issues, so I mostly had dry toast and crackers today. At dinner I had half of a cheese quesadilla (not a wise choice) along with my crackers and Gatorade. I didn't even consider working out this morning. I felt horrible last night, so I went straight to bed and slept until nearly seven this morning. It was wonderful sleeping in.
