Day Four Hundred and Twenty-Six

ZERO self-control.  That's the only thing I have to say about my calories today.  I don't know why I've struggled recently with self-control.  I had done so well for a year, and now it's like I've forgotten what self-control is.  I have some ideas I think I'll be putting in place to get back on track.  I took the day off from exercise.  I have been going so hard for a while now, that I realized that my body needed rest.  I am going to jump back into it in the morning and continue prepping for Saturday's big race!

Day Four Hundred and Twenty-Five

My calories were much better today.  I had a little bit of ice cream after dinner, so I'm going to avoid that tomorrow.  It was nice to eat a salad today.  I feel a lot better the days I have a salad.  My run this morning was rough.  After all the miles I put in over the weekend, my body just didn't want to move. I got in four miles, but they were slow.  We'll see how I do tomorrow.

Day Four Hundred and Twenty-Four

My calories haven't been perfect today, but I feel like they were okay for a Sunday afternoon.  I tend to snack and watch football on Sunday's.  The only really bad thing about my calories today was that I didn't have any vegetables other than the little bit of spinach I had in my eggs this morning.  I ran a quick mile this morning before church.  It was the fastest mile I've run since high school.  I didn't run very far, because I ran in a local 5K this afternoon.  I figured I should run a little when I first woke up, just to loosen up from my ten mile run yesterday.  The 5K went well.  I had great support from Bekah and the kids.  E greeted me at the finish line with a high five!  It was a small 5K, but I am pretty sure I was one of the top ten finishers!

Day Four Hundred and Twenty-Three

My calories today were not my best, but they weren't terrible.  I didn't really eat lunch, but definitely ate too much at dinner.  We ate at David's Burgers for Jeff and my birthdays.  I find it funny that the best chicken sandwich I have ever had is at a restaurant known for their burgers (which are really delicious as well).  My run today was crazy.  I have been contemplating running a half marathon, so I decided I would run ten miles as a trial.  I thought if I could run ten miles, then I would be able to run thirteen point one when I find one I want to run.  I am very excited to say that I made it ten and a third miles today.  It was amazing!  I will be honest, it was incredibly hard and there were a few moments that I wasn't sure that I would make it (and a few moments when I wasn't sure my breakfast was going to stay down).  I am so thankful that I was able to complete the entire run.  I am sure I will be feeling it even more tomorrow.

Day Four Hundred and Twenty-Two

My calories were terrible.  We had a last minute birthday party for my brother-in-law.  I know I didn't get everything tracked in myfitnesspal.  I am not doing a great job of eating well during this first half of the week.  I have to do better tomorrow.  I ran a short "recovery" run this morning.  It was a quick three and a half mile run, and it felt really great.  I'm going to shoot for a ten mile run tomorrow, so I will be letting you know in my next post whether or not I make it!

Day Four Hundred and Twenty-One - Weigh in #60 - A Tale of Two Octobers

I was reading some past blog posts this morning, and I came across my twenty-sixth weigh in from last year.  I lost over eight pounds that week.  EIGHT!  I couldn't believe it when I read it.  I have come a long way, but with that has come a major slow down.  While I would love to still be losing six or seven pounds per week, I know that would be unhealthy (and from my experiences so far it would seemingly be impossible).  I know I can get down to two hundred, it is just going to take a lot of focus, discipline, and hard work!

My weigh in today was pretty good.  You all know that I ate terribly last week.  I loaded up on wings, fries, cheesecake, cake, ice cream, barbecue, more fries, etc., and I was sure that I would be up in weight this week.  Thankfully that wasn't the case.  As of this morning, I have lost another 1.4 lbs.  This brings my total weight loss to an even 154 lbs., with a current weight of 212.2 lbs.  While it may not be eight pounds, it is still heading in the right direction.  It also brings me below the 212.8 that I weighed in at three weeks ago.  Now it is time for a really focused week to get below 210 lbs.!  I am getting so close to the end that I can taste it!  I am going to finish losing my butter half!

My calories today were really good.  I was careful about what I ate and made sure to stay within my calorie goals.  If I can continue this pattern for the next week, I know that I will be down another pound or two.  My run this morning was good.  It was cold, and my legs were a little tired, but overall  it was a good run.  No bike tonight.  I am going to relax a little and get some sleep.

Day Four Hundred and Twenty

My calories today were really good.  I was careful to watch what I ate, and made sure to stay within my goal.  I really need to focus on eating this way Thursday through Sunday.  That’s been my problem these last few weeks.  I’ve been eating terrible through Sunday, and then trying to catch up Monday through Wednesday.  I know I can do better.  I had a really good run this morning.  I ran 5.7 miles, at an average pace of 9:44/mile.  It was freezing though.  I layered up and even wore gloves.  I hope tomorrow is warmer.  I also put in some time on the recumbent tonight.  I’m still doing anything I can to be down tomorrow morning!

Day Four Hundred and Nineteen

My calories today were really great!  I was very careful and made sure not to snack unnecessarily throughout the day.  I had oatmeal for breakfast, salad for lunch, and a little bit of homemade chicken pot pie for dinner.  I did have a tiny bit of candy after dinner, but I focused not to overdo it with that.  My run this morning went well.  It was definitely faster than yesterday.  It wasn't too cold, but it was windy.  It is so cold on my fingers.  I think the next purchase I make made be for gloves with touch screen capability.  I also rode the recumbent bike again.  After the way I ate at the end of last week and over the weekend, I have to do everything I can to keep from gaining weight.

Day Four Hundred and Eighteen

My calories were much better than they have been in a few days.  It still wasn't perfect, but I was happy to have made better choices overall.  I had an interesting salad for dinner.  I threw it together with the foods that I was feeding the kids for dinner.  It had chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, and steamed carrots in with my spinach, pepperonis, ranch, and croutons.  It was a very interesting meal, but it tasted pretty good.  My run this morning wasn't easy.  I was still worn out from yesterday's six miler.  It was also pretty cold, but I used some new leggings that seemed to work well.  I ran a lot slower than my recent runs.  I think my overall time per miles was 10:45.  I like to keep my time around ten minutes per mile.  I hope my run tomorrow is a little better.
