Day Four Hundred and Fifty-Six - Weigh in #65 - Getting Needed Sleep

It is pretty late and I'm exhausted.  I haven't fully recovered from the festivities of last week.  I have been getting to sleep around eleven each night when I should be in bed before ten.  It really goes to show how critical sleep is to both mental and physical health.  I know I need a minimum of seven and a half hours of rest each night.  When I go for multiple days without getting the proper amount of sleep, I become tired, grumpy, and unpleasant.  I am more easily irritated, and have trouble focusing.  I think I saw a lot of that in me today.  That is why I am going to hurry through the rest of this post.

My weigh in today was really good.  After eating like crazy for three or four days (for some reason when families gather there is always a lot of eating that happens), I have gotten back into the groove of counting calories and exercising.  When I stepped onto the scale, I saw that I had lost almost another pound.  I was down 0.8 lbs.  This brings my total weight loss to 155.8 lbs., with a current weight of 210.4 lbs.  I am so thankful I managed to lose weight over Thanksgiving.  I was really worried that I would be up a few pounds.  That was not the case, and I am so excited about that.  Now it is time to buckle down and finish losing my butter half.

My calories today were not great.  I allowed myself to snack tonight.  Now I will need to be focused tomorrow to get myself back on track.  I also need to create time to ride the bike multiple evenings per week.  My run this morning was hard.  I just didn't feel like I had the drive or energy needed to run one of my faster times.  Still, I'm excited just to be out on the pavement.  I'm going to try and track all of my miles for December.  My monthly goal will be 100 miles.

Day Four Hundred and Fifty-Five

My calories today were perfect.  I am starting to get tired of saying this only on Wednesday evenings.  I need to be able to say each night that my calories were perfect.  I want to finish this journey strong, and drop these last pounds.  My run this morning went well.  It wasn't as cold as yesterday, but still not as warm as I prefer.  I hit 10,000 steps for the second day in a row!  Also, I made sure to get a full ride in on the recumbent bike tonight.  It's later than I had planned since I'm weighing in tomorrow morning.  Time to get some rest.

Day Four Hundred and Fifty-Four

My calories today were good.  I still have to be careful not to snack outside of dinner.  I am doing so much better though.  I don't know if I will be down at my weigh in on Thursday, but I'm doing everything I can to try.  I had another good run this morning.  It wasn't as cold as it has been the past few days.  I am so grateful to be out running again.

Day Four Hundred and Fifty-Three

My calories were better today than they have been since Thanksgiving, but they still weren't perfect.  I think I stretched my stomach out a little bit eating so much these past few days, because I don't feel full as quick as I normally do.  I need to get back on track because Christmas will be here before I know it.  I ran another four and a half miles this morning.  I really am enjoying these new shoes.  If you haven't tried out Brooks before, I'd highly recommend you look into them.  I also put in fifty minutes on the recumbent tonight.  I'm going to be doubling up my workouts for a few weeks.  I want to get down to 200 lbs. as soon as possible.

Day Four Hundred and Fifty-Two

Well, I am glad the holiday break has come to an end.  I couldn't handle another day of the terrible eating.  I have had the worst self-control.  Again, if you are just seeing this blog for the first time, please go back to last year and see that I didn't lose this weight eating the way I have this week.  It's time for me to get back on track.  Low calorie breakfasts, salads, and light dinners are on the menu for the week.  My run this morning went well.  I put in four and a half miles today, and wore my new Brooks Ghost 10.  They are excellent!  I found out that I was wearing my running shoes a half size too small.  I'm so thankful for the great people at Fleet Feet Sports who measured and helped me find the right shoes!  I'm excited to keep running in them this week.

Day Four Hundred and Fifty-One

My calories these past few days have been atrocious!  If you are just reading my blog for the first time, please go back to Sept. of 2016 and see that I have not lost this much weight by eating the way I have these last three days.  I didn't run the past two days.  I'm going to be changing that tomorrow.  It's back to the pavement, and back to healthy eating first thing in the AM.

Day Four Hundred and Fifty

I just wanted to update really quickly.  It's so late, and I skipped tracking again today.  I ate too much and I didn't run.  I did play soccer for a little while is afternoon with our friends.  It’s been a great holiday, but tomorrow things have to go back to normal.  Pancakes, bacon, and potatoes for breakfast, and then pizza for dinner just won't cut it.  I've enjoyed this visit so much (it's been needed for a long time), but I'm ready for my normal routine.

Day Four Hundred and Forty-Nine - Weigh in #64 - Give Thanks!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
With today being a day about being thankful, I have been wondering how I should convey the gratitude in my heart for each and every one of you who have helped in my weigh loss so far.  I can never repay each of you for reading my content and being my accountability each day.  I couldn't be where I am along this journey without you.

My weigh in today was a little bit of a let down.  As of this morning I have lost another .02 lbs.  This brings my currently weight to 211.2, with a total amount lost of 155 lbs.  I have to do better this week.  I can't let a slow week keep me from losing my butter half.

I ran another 5K this morning, and put in fifty minutes of the recumbent.  I complete the race with a 9:14/mile time.  I really enjoyed the run, and getting to run with my best friend.  I did a terrible job with my calories (it's Thanksgiving).  In fact, I didn't even bother tracking my calories today.  I completely took the day off.  I have to get back to it tomorrow!

Day Four Hundred and Forty-Eight

My calories today were perfect.  We had eggs and waffles for breakfast, and then samples at Sams Club for lunch. I honestly don’t know the exact calories I had, but I think it was around 1350. I had a healthy salad with chicken for dinner. I ran over four and a half miles this morning. It felt great! I have a Turkey Trot tomorrow morning I’ll be running in (so that I won't feel guilty throwing down at lunch!), so wish me luck!

Day Four Hundred and Forty-Seven

My calories today were not perfect.  I had a few too many calories at dinner, but a lot of that was fruit that I had with my dinner.  I wanted to do better this week than I'm currently doing because I know Thanksgiving is coming up and I want to go into the day on a positive note.  My run this morning was really good.  I ran over four and a half miles, and my speed was 9:37/mile.  It felt great to be out running, and I'm looking forward to tomorrow's run as well.
