Day Four Hundred and Thirty

As most of you already know, I ran a half marathon today.  We got up very early this morning and drove to Wynne, AR for the Midsouth Marathon/Half Marathon.  I am very excited to say that I was able to complete the entire 13.1 miles!  I knew it was going to be tough both physically and mentally.  I just wanted to finish, and it would be the icing on the cake if I could average a 10:30/mile pace.  Well not only did I finish, but I averaged a 9:30/mile pace.  I got into a good rhythm by the end of my second mile, and just kept going.  I never dreamed I’d be able to run a half marathon that fast!  My time was fast enough to earn me second in the 30-34 age group!  My calories today weren't great, but I'm okay with that.  Especially considering that I had to eat a little extra because of the 2100 calories I burned while running.  I did eat some treats that I normally would have avoided after the run, but I had a very healthy salad for dinner.  I’m so thankful that I completed the race.  God has brought me so far since last September, and today was another example of His grace!
