Day Four Hundred and Twenty-Eight - Weigh in #61 - When Going Up is a Win

It was no secret that last Friday and Saturday were two of the worst days I have had since I began my weight loss journey back in September of '16.  I ate so much food that I felt bloated for several days.  I then added to it Tuesday night with homemade chocolate chip cookies and Halloween candy (so much candy!).  In fact, if it weren't for the ten mile run on Saturday and the two runs on Sunday, I think I would have gained several pounds this week.

After a really bad week, all I wanted to was maintain my loss from last week.   It was not that I didn't want to lose, it just wasn't my main focus.  I just didn't want to set myself back any from what I had gained.  When I stepped onto the scale this morning, I was actually up 0.2 lbs.  This drops my total weight loss to 153.8 lbs, with a current weight of 212.4 lbs.  While I would have been stoked to have seen a number lower than 212 lbs., I am really glad I am not seeing any significant weight gain.  This will set me up to have a great week and get my weight down under 210 by next Thursday.  With my 13.1 mile run coming up Saturday, I should be able to exercise lightly next week, and hit this goal.  I'm seeing this journey with the same mentality that I will run my race this upcoming Saturday.  It won't be how fast I get to the finish, as long as I finish.  I'm going to finish this journey.  I will lose my butter half.

My calorie intake today wasn't great.  I did well to avoid the bag of Shipley's Donuts that was sitting in our break room.  I went over calorie goal, but I had long run this morning.  That still doesn't give me an excuse to eat cookies and candy.  My run this morning went well.  I ran another 5.7 miles, but I ran it a little slower than I did yesterday.  I am using tomorrow as a rest day before my half marathon this Saturday.  The top of my foot is still a little sore, so I'll rest and ice it tonight and tomorrow as a precaution.
