Day Five Hundred and Eighteen

I didn't do great with my calories today.  I had too much candy tonight at my men's Bible study.  There were Milk Duds and Rolos out, and I enjoyed too many of them.  I have gotten back into my salad routine for lunch each day.  I really need to get back to some sort of exercise.  Even though my hip and back are hurting, it doesn't seem to hurt when I'm walking.  So I'm going to try a light jog tomorrow and see how it feels.  My energy level from the flu seems to be getting better each day.

Day Five Hundred and Seventeen

My calories today were pretty good.  It was the first day in a while that I had a substantial meal for dinner.  I had been eating soup and other light meals, but today we had chicken and vegetables.  It was very good, and I'm grateful Bekah makes delicious, healthy meals for me.  My hip actually feels a tiny bit better (I think) than it has in recent days, so maybe I am on my way towards being healthy.  I really miss running each day, and I know I'm missing out of some great health benefits.  I still not quite back 100% with my energy.  The Flu really knocks it out of you.  I am hoping that I'm back to a normal energy level by next week.

Day Five Hundred and Sixteen

It was my first day back at work today.  It was a lot harder than I was expecting.  I knew I would get tired, I just didn't realize how quickly I would wear out.  I had probably only be up and around for about an hour when I was ready to climb in bed for a nap.  My calories today were really good.  Where I still can't run or exercise, I have to be very cautious about what and how much I'm eating.  It's also my big sister's birthday today, so I have to make sure I give her a shoutout, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KIBBIE!

Day Five Hundred and Fifteen

My quarantine is now over.  I still am very tired, but I am glad to be free to head back to work.  Being stuck in bed for a week was pretty boring.  Sure I watched plenty of The Office and Parks and Recreation, but even Michael Scott and Ron Swanson don't beat a solid day of work.  I am still pretty worn down, and after being on my feet a lot today I am thoroughly worn out.  I have a feeling that I will be very tired by the end of my work day tomorrow.  I ate too much today, but I still kept my calories within a decent range.  I still didn't work out.  My back/hip are still hurting pretty bad.  We'll see what I can do this week to get that back to feeling better.  It's my Dad's 65th birthday, so I want to make sure I give him a shoutout here on the old Losing My Butter Half Blog.  Happy Birthday Pop!

Day Five Hundred and Fourteen

Well today is the most I've been out of bed in a week.  I still rested a lot and stayed off my feet off and on throughout the day.  I ate a little more than I should have, but I was pretty careful with what I ate.  I really would have thought that the time in bed this past week would have been enough time for my back and hip to heal.  Unfortunately, that isn't the case.  It still hurts really bad, especially if I've been sitting for a long time and go to stand up.  I need to figure this out or I am not going to be running for a while.

Day Five Hundred and Thirteen

My calories were good again today.  I didn't eat a lot.  I was really tired again, but the aches have pretty much gone.  I didn't sleep as much, and even went outside and walked around a little bit.  The problem was that about halfway around the block I got really tired, but still had to finish the lap.  By the time I got back, I was exhausted.  Still, it was nice to get out for some fresh air for a few minutes.

Day Five Hundred and Twelve - Weight in #73 - A Horrible Way to Lose Weight

I have had another successful day of sitting around in bed trying to get better.  I feel much better than I did for the past four days.  I'm still really tired and moving around wears me out extremely quickly.  I did eat a delicious side-salad with my soup tonight, so I definitely see an amazing improvement from the pudding, popsicles, and soup that I have been eating for the past few days.

So I went ahead and weighed this morning, and I was beyond shocked by the results.  I knew that after being very bloated at my last weigh in that I would be down some from having the flu all week.  Little did I know that I would drop so much weight.  When I stepped onto the scale, I was down 14.8 lbs.  This brings my total weight loss to 162 lbs., with a current weight of 204.2 lbs.  I know that is a lot of weight to drop in a week, but I am also realistic about two things.  First that a lot of what I lost was bloat from the week before.  Also, as soon as I start eating and moving around again, I will put back on some of the weight I've lost from being immobile and hardly eating for the past five days.  Regardless, I am going to keep my focus and as I get better I will keep my focus and lose my butter half.

Day Five Hundred and Eleven

I am slowly getting better.  I got up and moved around again today, but it totally wore me out.  I still have the achy joints and I've been extremely sleepy all day.  I still haven't been eating much, but the sweet potato for dinner was perfect.  I really don't like feeling exhausted all day long, and I'm hoping that I improve even more tomorrow.  I still have the low fever, but it is definitely lowering.  I hope that the rest I'm getting to get better allows my back and hip to heal as well.  I really want to get back to running again.

Day Five Hundred and Ten

Day number three of being sick is just as miserable as days one and two.  Chills, aches, and fever, and now add a stuffed up nose to the mix.  I really just feel rather terrible.  I have watched a few Harry Potter movies and eaten jello pudding and sweet potatoes.  I really just want to be better and get out of this room.  I start to get restless, so I make myself get out of bed each hour to move around.  I get so worn out just walking around the room, that I sit down and fall back asleep.  Also, my knees are so achy that just walking around the bed or to the bathroom is uncomfortable.  I know I can kick this.  I'm hoping tomorrow is the beginning of my recovery!

Day Five Hundred and Nine

Well, it is office.  I have Influenza.  I am aching all over, and I'm just hoping this isn't just the beginning.  I only ate two things today, but what I did eat was a milkshake and fries.  I know that was a terrible choice, but it was comfort food.  I haven't had an appetite the rest of the day.  Obviously I haven't exercised today, but I have a feeling I'm losing weight the hard way.  Anyway, I am exhausted, so I am going to end it here.  Here is to feeling better tomorrow (or the next day, or the day after that).

Day Five Hundred and Eight

So, I am nearly certain that I have the flu.  I'm going to the doctor in the morning to confirm this, but I have every symptom.  I have had very little to eat today, and spent the entire day in bed watching shows, football, and movies (productive, eh?).  I just didn't have an appetite, but my mug of tomato bisque this evening was pretty great.  I obviously didn't work out today, and I'm beginning to wonder when I will be able to work out again.  It seems like such a long time ago that I last ran.  I am going to do my best to get some shut eye, and sleep off these chills and aches.

Day Five Hundred and Seven

So I have hardly eaten today. I have a nasty cough and a slightly sore throat. I just haven't had much of an appetite.  I have had a some animal crackers and a sweet potato. My hip is still really bothering me, so I basically laid on my back all day (I know, really productive). I am pretty exhausted, so that is pretty much all I have to contribute to this post. I have to get better soon!

Day Five Hundred and Six

My calorie intake today was really good.  We had dinner with friends tonight, and had some awesome pork tacos!  My back/hip have still be very painful, but thankfully we were eating with a Chiropractor tonight, and he gave me an adjustment.  I'm really hoping what he worked on helps relieve the pain I've been experiencing.  I really want to get back out running as soon as possible.
