Today was my "recovery" day. After two days with back-to-back 10Ks, I knew my body wouldn't be able to handle another big run. I also was planning to mow tonight, so I really didn't want to wear myself out and then have to mow. It is very important to pay attention to your body and make sure you don't overdo it. I'm sure a lot of my pains I experience are the result of me pushing myself too far, and not doing everything I need to be doing. I have a hand roller, but I only use it occasionally. I know if I'll use that more often, I'll feel much better. For the joint and other pains/injuries it's days like today that will help them heal.
I should have been a little more careful with tracking my calories, so I'm not entirely sure how I did on calories. I did weigh my steak at lunch, but I should have paid closer attention to snacks. Like I mentioned above, I knew that today needs to be a light run after the past two days of 10Ks. I put in a light 5K, and then did my push-ups and sit-ups. I'm grateful for the beautiful weather out this morning. It was better that the eighty-five to ninety degree weather I've been out in lately.
