Day Six Hundred and Sixteen - I Need to Get Back to Old Habits
I was really happy with how today went. It felt great to eat a healthy lunch and a reasonable dinner (Chick-fil-A wrap on the way to church). Then after church we went out for fro-yo with our pastor. I didn't even think about the fact that it would blow my diet. Still, it was delicious! Why is it always so hard to be smart after dinner? There was a time where eating after six or seven o'clock was completely foreign to me. I know that I can have the discipline to avoid that. I need focus, determination, and lots of grace!
My run today was really good. I was able to put in a full 10K, plus a little extra. While I'm pretty worn out, I know that I can do it again tomorrow. I want to put in six plus tomorrow, and then have a nice easy run on Friday. With the days getting hot pretty quickly now, I will need to get up and hit the pavement. I'm a little put out with myself not getting up early and running anymore. I need to have the disciplined mindset and start going to bed earlier. These late morning and afternoon runs are not going to be possible later in the summer when my schedule changes. I might as well get used to it now.
