There is something cool about running with someone else. My sister has recently (like two days ago) started running again. She wanted to go for a run this afternoon, so I was happy to go out with her. I don't think I have run with her since college, but maybe not even since high school. She has always been a fantastic athlete, and I have never been able to keep up with her in the past. First off, I was impressed with how great she did with not having run in a long time. I ran a little slower than normal, but she kept right with me for two miles. I know it won't be long before she is back keeping pace with me for four to six miles. Great job, Sis!
I still haven't gotten into the routine I want with my meals. Today was a quick late breakfast, and then a couple chicken nuggets and a banana thrown in late. We then scrounged around for a quick dinner. I know I need to do better, and I know that I can. One thing is that I'm not getting up to run like I used to. Instead I'm running in the middle of the day. I think if I can get that changed back to how it was six months ago, then I'll be able to set a better routine throughout my day. I want to get back to a quick breakfast, a salad for lunch, and a reasonable dinner.
So overall my calories weren't great today. I didn't track them as closely as I need to. I will do my best to be more intentional tomorrow. My run was really good. We ran around my sisters neighborhood, so it was nice to have a change of scenery. There were a couple of tough hills near her home, and after she finished up I took advantage of two of the steepers ones. While my neighborhood has a decent incline I run each day, two of the hills I tackled today were a lot tougher grade.
